When in Doubt, Check the Couch
Living in a small studio apartment means that there aren't many places for things to be. This means that it can be hard to find a place for everything and has resulted in some creative ways of using nooks and crannies to store everything. This also means that when we can't find something that there are very limited places for that item to be. Even so, some things can be gone for days without us finding them, and there it's always the same spot. The couch.
Now, it may seem odd that everything seems to end up in our little loveseat; however, it's really not that weird when you know my study habits. Since all of my classes this semester are online, I spend a good majority of my study time at home. While the desk would probably be a better study place, it isn't nearly as comfy or cozy as our little couch. Whenever I need something then, like a water bottle or a pen, it comes with me onto the couch and inevitably into the couch. Items like shoes also tend to end up underneath the couch because that's where I always kick them off when I'm staying in for the remainder of the evening.
This phenomenon has caused my husband to insist that I enjoy feeding the couch. This has resulted in a few "Little Shop of Horrors" references and mild chastisement for feeding the couch so much. I could try and argue that I'm not feeding the couch... but I am. It gets hungry, I guess!
We now have a new saying in our household: When in doubt, check the couch.
